James R. Turner, Jr., is Director of Affirmative Action in the Global Diversity & Inclusion organization of The Boeing Company. He is responsible for the development and implementation of AA programs and initiatives designed to ensure compliance with the equal employment opportunity mandates of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs of the U.S. Department of Labor and Boeing’s overall diversity goals. James joined Boeing, in July 2006, with over 30 years of experience in monitoring and directing public and private sector AA programs. Most recently, he was the Director of Employee Solutions for the New Jersey-based Public Service Enterprise Group. There James led employee relations, EEO/affirmative action, diversity and occupational health services. Most notably, James was responsible for this organization’s innovative affirmative action initiatives.
In 1995 James was appointed to the Senior Executive Service of the U.S. Government and served as Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Northeast Region until 2004. There he was responsible for six field offices and ninety employees located throughout New England, New York, New Jersey and Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Prior to this James was Deputy Regional Director for the Chicago Region OFCCP. As Deputy Regional Director, he was a founding member of the Chicago Area Partnerships (CAPS), the first organizational model of top level corporate, community and government leaders assembled to discuss and provide leadership on cutting edge AA and EEO related workplace issues. OFCCP enforces laws that require Federal contractors and subcontractors to take affirmative action to ensure that all individuals have an equal opportunity for employment.
Ms. Alphonse has over 20 years of human resources experience and in her current role she has responsibility for enterprise-wide Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action planning, government regulatory reporting, Department of Labor Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs Audits, Diversity Non-Financial Metrics and Program trends and gap analytics, as well as in recent years launching Enterprise wide Disability Inclusion, Workplace Accommodations and Accessibility initiatives. She began her career at Northrop Grumman in 1996 as an employment and employee relations representative in Human Resources at the St. Augustine, Florida site and has held progressive positions of responsibility within the company at the site level, business area level, shared services level, sector level, and the corporate office and Enterprise levels. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman she worked for AlliedSignal Technical Services Corporation (now Honeywell) in HR generalist and labor relations capacities. She has also previously provided EEO/AA services to a variety of government contractors while employed by two nationally recognized labor and employment law firms.
A graduate of the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in pre-law / criminal justice, she completed her internship at the Jacksonville State Attorney’s Office and began her Master’s degree in criminal justice; however, went on to begin working in the Human Resources field and obtain her master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Webster University while working full-time. Ms. Alphonse is a member of the U.S. Business Leadership Network (USBLN) focused on Best Practices for People with Disabilities as well as the Jacksonville Industry Liaison Group (JILG) with a focus on Equal Employment and Affirmative Action Compliance and partnership with the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.
Cathy Dorton is Global Director of Compliance and Workplace Fairness for The Coca-Cola Company. In this role, Ms. Dorton ensures the Company’s compliance with respect to governmental laws and regulations for affirmative action and equal opportunity. She leads the design, development and implementation of the Company’s Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action strategy and she participates in the design, development and implementation of the Company’s diversity and workplace fairness strategies and initiatives.
Ms. Dorton possess over 27 years of combined leadership experience in the fields of EEO and Affirmative Action. Prior to joining The Coca-Cola Company, she held roles in both the US government and in private industry. Most recently, Ms. Dorton was the Senior Manager of Equal Opportunity Programs at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and, prior to that, the Director of EEO Programs and Recruiting Systems for Time Warner’s subsidiary Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. Prior to working for these corporations, Ms. Dorton spent thirteen years with the US government, working initially for the EEOC in Richmond, Virginia and then the OFCCP in Atlanta.
Bari W. Evans, Vice President & Companywide Manager of Affirmative Action & EEO Compliance at Wells Fargo & Co. for the past 27 years, earned his bachelor’s degree in Technical Journalism (1969) and M.S. degree (1971) in Sociology from Colorado State University. After graduating, Mr. Evans joined the San Francisco Unified School District in Community Relations (1971-72) during the District’s first year of school desegregation. From there, Mr. Evans returned to the world of academia (1972-74) serving as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at California State University – Chico, Special Assistant to the President of Sonoma State University (1974-76), Assistant to the Provost at the University of California – Santa Cruz, and Deputy Department Manager of the Affirmative Action Department at the University of California’s Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (1977-79). During this time Mr. Evans also completed all of his Ph.D. coursework (ABD) in Sociology at the University of California – Berkeley. In a transition to the private sector, Mr. Evans joined ITEL Corporation (1979) as an HR Manager responsible for the company’s Data Automation Project, and then moved on to TRW’s Defense & Space Systems Group (1980-89) as a Division HR Manager, for 9 years, before assuming his current role with Wells Fargo. For six years he served on the Board of Directors (in his 1st term) and was Vice Chair then Chairman of the Equal Employment Advisory Council (EEAC) in Washington D.C., which serves as a legal watchdog of national and state employment laws, and as consultant to the Fortune 500 companies in this regard.
Jessica Huhn is responsible for compliance with the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, including all associated regulations and executive orders, for all U.S. Cintas locations. She is responsible for educating field HR and management on EEO/AA obligations. Also, she consults internally on talent management, compensation, and HR/Hiring systems to integrate compliance with business needs. Since joining Cintas in 2003, Jessica has held several roles including Manager of Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, Learning and Development Manager and Instructional Designer/Trainer/Facilitator for Corporate leadership training.
Prior to working with at Cintas, Jessica worked in Recruiting and Retention for Western-Southern Life Insurance Corporate Headquarters in Cincinnati, OH. Jessica received her B.S. in Secondary Education from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
Tiffanie McDonald joined USAA in 2009 leading the Diversity & Inclusion Office in the Human Resources Department. The Diversity and Inclusion Office is responsible for enterprise diversity and inclusion strategy, Affirmative Action Programs and EEO, and selection practices.
Prior to joining USAA, Tiffanie worked as Senior Director of Diversity and Industry Relations at Sysco Corporation in Houston, Texas. In this capacity, she was primarily responsible for developing the corporate diversity strategy, diversity programs and metrics, mentoring, diversity and college recruiting, supplier diversity, community outreach and industry relations. Immediately preceding Sysco, Tiffanie was employed at Continental/United Airlines in various roles including Senior Labor Counsel and Director of Fair Employment Practices and Diversity. As Senior Labor Counsel, she was responsible for providing counsel and advice to Human Resources regarding employment and labor law related issues, contract compliance, drug and alcohol last chance agreements, union avoidance, union grievance adjustments and arbitration. As Director of Diversity and Fair Employment Practices, she was responsible for diversity, affirmative action programs, protected class and ethics investigations, FMLA compliance, accommodations and ADA, and HR compliance.
In addition to her corporate human resources, diversity and inclusion and labor relations experience, Tiffanie also served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Texas criminal justice system after completing law school and acted as a visiting lecturer on criminal and juvenile justice issues at Baylor University Law School.
Tiffanie earned her J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas and her B.A. from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas. She is a licensed Texas attorney and certified Texas mediator.
Joanna Nolte, Manager, Equal Opportunity and US Diversity & Inclusion for Shell Oil Company since February 2010. Her work experience includes 18 years at Shell, and 10 years with other large corporations in Houston – mainly in Human Resources roles. responsible for managing Diversity & Inclusion activities in the US – including the Employee D & I networks, partnering with external organizations to foster D&I and working with all US businesses to ensure conformity under US Equal Opportunity law. The most gratifying part of the job is knowing that my work helps to make Shell a more inclusive culture and improves on our ability to provide Equal Opportunity to all applicants and employees.
Her HR experiences have been varied and include specialty roles such as executive compensation and benefits, policy, talent, as well as generalist HR Manager roles. As Talent Manager for Shell’s US E&P division, she led resourcing efforts for Upstream Americas as part of Transition 2009 – a significant restructuring project. Prior to that I was HR Manager for a high growth unconventional energy start-up venture in the Upstream Business at Shell. And before that, as a HR Manager in Shell’s Trading business, she was responsible for global trader compensation for a significant portion of the business and representing US Crude & Products Trading as well as the US Shipping business.
Before joining Shell, Joanna worked at Pennzoil Products Company, GE Government Services, and Anadarko Petroleum. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a BS in Finance.
Kim Shaw is a senior HR professional at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, with experience that spans across various functions with a concentration in compliance, talent acquisition, talent management and human resource outsourcing. Her expertise in creating and developing high performing teams spans a wide range of industries including: information technology, medical device, professional services, and pharmaceutical. Kim has demonstrated value to the business across multiple disciplines by applying strong consulting, change management and business acumen to engage teams to successful outcomes. She has spent the past 5 years with Hewlett Packard Enterprise in senior leadership roles. She is currently Director, HR Compliance and is responsible for the Affirmative Action and Global Contingent Workforce Programs. Within the Affirmative Action Program she is responsible for developing the overall program strategy, creating education and awareness throughout the organization, and monitoring, managing and mitigating risk for the organization. As the leader for the Global Contingent Workforce Program, Kim is responsible for ensuring HR policy compliance at the global, country and local levels for the 55,000+ contingent workers throughout 74 countries.
Prior to Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Kim worked for Johnson & Johnson as the leader of Talent Acquisition for the ETHICON Inc. franchise, a $3.6B global medical device company. In this capacity she managed projects in support of company acquisitions, recruitment and talent management initiatives supporting the diversity strategy and business unit / function reorganizations. Prior to J&J her background includes working as Director of Human Capital for Manpower Group Solutions (formerly T. Williams Consulting) and work as an executive recruiter. Kim is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology.
