In her current role at Providence St. Joseph Health, Melissa Burton manages compliance around Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and other related topics.  She is part of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team for the Providence system. Providence is a not-for-profit network of hospitals, health plans, physicians, clinics, home health services and affiliated health services across seven states with 120,000 caregivers. In this position she works with a variety of stakeholders and consults on best practices at the strategic intersection of business needs and compliance. Underlying all her work is a commitment to developing a culture of inclusion and belonging. Melissa has worked in human resources for over 25 years and has a broad HR background, primarily in the high-tech industry. Prior to joining Providence, she worked in the EEO/AAP consulting space assisting clients and managing OFCCP audits. She holds a MS in Industrial/Organization Psychology and a BA in Business Administration and Psychology. She resides in Portland Oregon and is excited to be an Advisory Board Member for The Institute for Workplace Equality.
